About

Hi, I'm Mike.

A cyclist who wrenches on bikes and a Solon resident who got tired of watching good bikes end up on the tree lawn.

Micycle Shop is a backyard bike shop with a simple model: I come to you. Drop me a message, fill out a quick form, and I'll pick up your bike at your door, fix what needs fixing, and bring it back ready to ride. No hauling it across town, no waiting in line, no surprise charges.

I've been wrenching on bikes for years, mostly because I can't help it. I'm a League Cycling Instructor (LCI #7283) and I've spent a lot of time in the Solon cycling community. Getting more people on bikes -- whether that's a tune-up on a daily commuter, a vintage find pulled off a curb and brought back to life, or something in between -- is the whole point.

Fair parts. Fair labor. If the price is a stretch, just say so.

Education

Cycling education

League of American Bicyclists certified instruction (LCI #7283), by request.

Beyond repairs, I teach. As a certified League Cycling Instructor, I offer bike handling and traffic skills sessions, family and kids' bike safety basics, e-bike safety courses, and group rides or clinics for neighborhoods, schools, or community groups, drawing on official League of American Bicyclists curriculum.

Sessions are scheduled by request and tailored to the group, whether that's a quick refresher for a family, a safety talk for a scout troop or school, or a longer skills clinic for adults getting back into riding. Reach out to talk through what you have in mind.

Questions

FAQ

Do I come to you, or do you come to me?
I come to you. Free pickup and delivery within Solon. No drop-offs required.
How long does it take?
Most tune-ups are back within 2-3 days. I'll give you a timeline when I pick up the bike.
What if I don't know what's wrong?
Book a free ABC safety check. I'll inspect the bike and tell you exactly what it needs before any money changes hands.
Do you work on e-bikes?
Yes -- Class 1, 2, and 3 e-bikes only. Inspection and basic adjustments; battery and motor work is outside my scope. I ask that you remove the battery before I pick up the bike -- it stays with you while the bike is in my care.
What's your service area?
Solon and the immediate surrounding area. Reach out if you're nearby -- I'm flexible.
What if I'm not happy with the work?
I'll make it right or refund the labor. Simple.
Why "Micycle?"
Mike is short for Micycle. 🚲
